BISP Launches Social Protection Wallet: Beneficiaries to Receive Payments Directly at Home

Islamabad — The Government of Pakistan has introduced a major digital initiative under the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) by launching the *Social Protection Wallet*, aimed at transferring financial assistance directly into the mobile accounts of low-income households. The new system has been designed to eliminate corruption, unauthorized deductions, and delays in payments.

According to details, the Social Protection Wallet is a digital account linked to beneficiaries’ mobile numbers and CNICs. Through this system, financial aid will be transferred directly to the account of the female head of each eligible family. Previously, beneficiaries had to stand in long queues and often faced unlawful deductions, issues that the new mechanism aims to resolve.

Each eligible household will be issued a special government SIM card. Beneficiaries have been instructed to visit their nearest BISP tehsil office with their CNIC for biometric verification. Upon successful verification, they will receive the government SIM free of cost, which must remain active to ensure timely receipt of payments.

Once the SIM is activated, beneficiaries can visit JazzCash, Easypaisa, or their designated bank branch to show their BISP SIM and CNIC. A representative will then create their mobile wallet, which will be linked directly to their BISP profile. Each installment will be transferred automatically to this account.

For those who do not use mobile banking, the amount can still be collected from any authorized BISP retailer. By verifying their identity using their CNIC and SIM, beneficiaries can receive the full payment of Rs. 13,500 in cash without any deductions, after entering a PIN or providing a fingerprint.

The government has described the new system as a significant step toward promoting transparency, enhancing women’s financial empowerment, and advancing digital inclusion across the country. Access to financial assistance is now easier, safer, and faster than ever before.
