People of Resource-Rich Province Deprived of Gas Too; Government Priorities Contrary to Public Issues: Maulana Abdul Wasey

Those Who Speak of Constitution and Democracy Are Being Suppressed; Problems Will Not Be Solved by Hollow Promises and Announcements: Provincial Ameer JUI

QUETTA (Daily Qudrat Quetta) – Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Balochistan Provincial Ameer Senator Maulana Abdul Wasey has said that JUI is being punished for adopting the path of constitutional supremacy, protection of democratic values and peaceful political struggle; however, the party will under no circumstances abandon its struggle for the protection of the constitution, law, parliament and the democratic rights of the people.

While speaking to a delegation of workers at his residence the other day, Maulana Abdul Wasey said that JUI has always waged a peaceful political struggle for the rule of the constitution, supremacy of law, stability of the democratic system and protection of the fundamental rights of the people in the country. According to him, the regrettable situation is that difficulties are being created for those who raise a democratic voice, and efforts are being made to suppress those who point out public issues.

He said that Balochistan is rich in natural resources, mineral deposits and blessings such as gas, yet despite this, the people of the province are deprived of a basic facility like gas. During the winter season, citizens have to face severe difficulties and have to use expensive alternative means to meet household needs.

The provincial ameer said that keeping the people of Balochistan deprived of fundamental rights and not giving them an appropriate share in the benefits derived from the province’s resources is unacceptable. The first right over resources belongs to the people here, while the provision of education, health, employment, electricity, gas, clean water and other basic facilities is the responsibility of the state.

Maulana Abdul Wasey demanded that the gas supply system in Balochistan be improved, unannounced load-shedding and the gas shortage be ended, and discrimination against the people of the province be eliminated by providing them their constitutional and legal rights.

He further said that Balochistan’s problems will not be solved merely by announcements and promises; rather, their solution requires a serious strategy, practical steps and taking the elected representatives of the people into confidence.

He made clear that JUI will continue its peaceful struggle for the rights of the people, the fair use of the province’s resources and the supremacy of the constitution and democracy, and will continue to raise the voice of the people of Balochistan on every forum.
