Sher Afzal Marwat Claims 68 KP MPAs Have Rebelled Against PTI Amid Governor’s Rule

ISLAMABAD:Member of the National Assembly Sher Afzal Marwat has claimed that 68 out of 91 members of the provincial assembly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have rebelled against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) following the imposition of governor’s rule in the province.
Speaking on Samaa News, Marwat said the lawmakers would choose their own parliamentary leader and leader of the house.
He maintained that the provincial lawmakers themselves would hold dialogue with the federal government, arguing that they were the ones directly facing the consequences of the current situation in the province.
Marwat said the federal government had imposed governor’s rule in their province, leaving them without effective representation in negotiations. He added that Ali Amin Gandapur had been nominated to represent the lawmakers in talks with the federal government.
According to Marwat, the 68 MPAs had issued a joint statement naming Gandapur as their representative for negotiations.
### Marwat Takes Aim at PTI Leaders
Marwat also criticized PTI leaders, making sarcastic remarks about their political activities and preparedness.
Referring to the party’s earlier stance that one leader would step forward if another fell, he remarked that those expected to step up had reportedly gone for Umrah.
Commenting on Sohail Afridi and Shafi Jan, Marwat said he was unsure about Afridi’s position but claimed that Shafi Jan was searching for “Plan B” after losing his previous plan.
### Questions PTI’s Internal Unity
In a separate interview on ARY News, Marwat said internal differences within PTI had persisted throughout the party’s 25-year history.
He argued that even PTI founder Imran Khan would be unable to unite the party if he came out of prison, claiming that longstanding disagreements had developed into personal hostilities.
Commenting on PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan’s statements about the party standing firm, Marwat remarked that Gohar might be standing, but questioned the condition of the party’s broader organizational structure.
Marwat’s remarks highlight his claims about divisions within PTI and the political tensions surrounding the situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The claims regarding the 68 MPAs and their alleged rebellion have not been independently verified in the information provided.
