Weather Changes with Cold Winds, Chill Increases, Rush of Buyers in Winter Clothing Markets

QUETTA – In the provincial capital Quetta, the weather has changed significantly due to cold winds, and the intensity of cold has begun to increase in the morning and evening hours. With the onset of cold weather, there has been a surge in the purchase of winter clothing in various markets of the city, while the rush of citizens has increased at the Sunday Bazaar on Joint Road and the L.D. Market on Quarry Road. On the other hand, due to the change in weather, complaints of symptoms such as cold, flu, cough, and fever are also emerging.
Citizens have started using warm clothes due to cold winds in the early morning and after evening in the city. Demand for sweaters, jackets, coats, gloves, caps, shawls, and warm socks is seen increasing. Citizens are buying winter clothing for their children, elders, and other family members before the intensity of cold increases further.
A large number of citizens are arriving at the Sunday Bazaar on Joint Road to purchase low-priced warm clothes. A rush is being seen at stalls of sweaters, jackets, coats, warm shawls, and children’s clothing in the market. People belonging to the low-income group are also turning to the Sunday Bazaar to buy warm clothes at relatively low prices.
Similarly, purchases of winter clothing have also picked up at the L.D. Market located on Quarry Road. Citizens say that due to the increase in cold in the morning and evening hours, it has become necessary to arrange warm clothes for children and elders. According to shopkeepers, with the change in weather, demand has especially increased for children’s sweaters, jackets, caps, gloves, and socks.
On the other hand, with the change in weather, symptoms of various seasonal and viral diseases are also emerging among citizens. Citizens need to take precautions due to complaints such as fever, cold, flu, cough, throat irritation, and chest infection.
According to General Physician Dr. Pamir Khan, during sudden changes in weather, citizens, especially children and elders, should take special precautions. He advised using appropriate warm clothing to protect against the cold and staying safe from cold winds in the early morning and at night.
Dr. Pamir Khan said that due to the lack of rainfall in Balochistan, Quetta is allegedly facing the presence of the Russian virus and an increase in various diseases. However, authentic medical evidence is necessary to correctly identify this virus and confirm its relationship with the lack of rainfall.
He advised citizens to consume soup, yakhni, and other warm foods, saying that drinking an appropriate amount of water, eating a balanced diet, and resting are also necessary. In case of cold, flu, fever, or persistent cough, a qualified doctor should be consulted, while immediate medical examination should be sought if symptoms worsen in children and elders.
A statement attributed to Dr. Aamir Khan said that in some patients, antibiotic medicines are not having an immediate effect and there is a need to increase their dosage. However, according to medical principles, antibiotics are not effective for treating viral infections, and increasing their dosage or injection dose on one’s own can be harmful. Antibiotics should be used only on the advice and as needed by a qualified physician.
With the increase in cold intensity in Quetta, while there has been a surge in the purchase of winter clothing, it is also necessary for citizens to take precautionary measures to protect against seasonal diseases along with protection from the cold.
