PPP Leader Pays Tribute to Zulfikar Ali Bhutto on Death Anniversary, Reaffirms Commitment to Democracy

Quetta:Senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Mir Ali Hassan Zehri paid rich tribute to Zulfikar Ali Bhutto on his death anniversary, describing him as one of the greatest political figures in the history of the subcontinent.

In a statement issued on the occasion, Zehri said that Bhutto empowered the people of Pakistan with political awareness, self-respect, and democratic rights. He highlighted that Bhutto provided the country with a unanimous constitution, laid the foundation of the nuclear program, and elevated Pakistan’s standing on the global stage.

He also termed the 1974 Islamic Summit in Lahore as one of Bhutto’s landmark achievements, noting that it brought together leaders of the Muslim world on a single platform and strengthened unity among Islamic nations.

Zehri further stated that Bhutto’s pro-people policies gave a new identity to workers, farmers, and the underprivileged segments of society. His struggle, he said, was not for power but for the rights of the people and the sovereignty of the country.

Paying tribute to Benazir Bhutto, he described her as a brave champion of democracy who made immense sacrifices in the fight against dictatorship.

He also praised Asif Ali Zardari for steering the party through difficult times and strengthening democratic institutions, while expressing confidence in Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, stating that under his dynamic leadership, the PPP is growing stronger and is ready to face national challenges.

Zehri concluded by reaffirming that the mission of Bhutto and Benazir remains alive, and the PPP will continue its struggle for democracy, justice, and public welfare. He urged party workers to remain united and committed to serving the underprivileged, particularly in transforming Hub into a modern and model district.
