PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Disowns Imran Khan’s Official X Account in Islamabad High Court

ISLAMABAD:Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has distanced the party from the official X account of the party’s founder, Imran Khan, during a hearing before the Islamabad High Court.
The hearing concerned a petition filed by a citizen seeking the closure of Imran Khan’s X account. Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir heard the case.
Barrister Gohar appeared before the court, along with Imran Khan’s lawyers, Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry and Shamsa Kiyani, as well as officials from the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).
During the proceedings, Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir told the PTI chairman that he had not been summoned to appear personally and could have submitted a written response instead.
In response, Barrister Gohar distanced PTI from the account, stating that the party did not claim ownership of Imran Khan’s official X account.
He requested additional time to submit a detailed response, explaining that circumstances had changed and the party needed an opportunity to present its position in writing.
The judge accepted the request and directed Barrister Gohar to submit his response in writing within the time granted by the court.
Following the request for additional time, the Islamabad High Court adjourned the hearing until November 23.
The court has yet to issue a final decision on the petition seeking the closure of Imran Khan’s X account.
