26-Year-Old German Doctor Marries Pakistani Youth After Online Friendship, Settles in Mandi Bahauddin

Mandi Bahauddin: A 26-year-old German doctor traveled to Mandi Bahauddin to marry a Pakistani man after their online interaction turned into love.
According to details, 22-year-old Muhammad Akmal, a resident of village Defar in Mandi Bahauddin, married Salma, a German doctor, after inviting her to Pakistan. The couple’s relationship began through the online game Roblox, where they started communicating and remained in contact for nearly five months before deciding to marry.
In an interview with MYK News TV on YouTube, Akmal said he proposed to Salma on the very first day of their conversation. After facing some initial hurdles, Salma eventually traveled to Pakistan to formalize their marriage.
Salma shared that upon arriving in Pakistan, she was initially surprised by village life and daily routines, but felt happy to be with her husband. She described household tasks such as washing clothes and dishes and making traditional bread as entirely new experiences. “The first few days were difficult, but I learned with time,” she said.
Akmal stated that the couple received full support from both families, and approximately PKR 4.5 million was spent on the wedding, including travel and ceremony expenses.
Salma holds dual passports—German and Bosnian—and has expressed her desire to live in Pakistan with her husband. She is also learning Punjabi and Urdu to improve communication.
Following the wedding, Akmal said their life together has been happy and harmonious, built on mutual love and respect. Social media users have praised the couple for their simplicity, sincerity, and cross-cultural bond, calling the marriage a successful story of online friendship, love, and cultural harmony.
