Flour prices surge across Punjab and Balochistan as bread becomes costlier

Lahore:Rising wheat and flour prices have pushed up bread prices in several cities, adding to the financial burden on consumers already struggling with rising living costs.

In Faisalabad, flour prices have increased by another Rs10 per kilogram, reaching Rs170 per kg amid a continued upward trend. The rising cost has left residents concerned, with citizens urging the government to take immediate measures to control flour prices and provide relief to households.

The situation has also worsened in Quetta, where a 50-kilogram bag of flour has reportedly reached Rs8,000. Following the rise in flour prices, tandoor owners have raised bread prices to Rs60.

Meanwhile, wheat and flour prices have also climbed in Lahore. Wheat is being sold at Rs5,450 per maund, while a 15-kilogram bag of flour is available for Rs2,350. Chakki flour has reached Rs190 per kilogram.

Residents in Lahore have called on authorities to bring down wheat and flour prices, warning that rising staple food costs are putting additional pressure on household budgets.
