It may be recalled that Awam Raj Party head and anchorperson Iqrarul Hassan was allegedly taken into custody from his residence in Lahore. According to family members, Iqrarul Hassan was allegedly taken into custody by officials of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA). However, the agency has so far neither confirmed his formal arrest nor have the reasons for his detention come to light. The situation regarding Iqrarul Hassan’s current whereabouts and legal status also remains unclear, while NCCIA officials are reluctant to give their official position on the matter.
However, Iqrarul Hassan’s family says that they also contacted the local police station of the NCCIA but could not obtain any information from there either. Iqrarul Hassan’s wife, Farah Iqrar, while narrating the details of the incident, said that we were sleeping at night when suddenly intense noise and loud voices began coming from outside the house, saying “bring Iqrar out or we will break everything.”

She said that the officials climbed over the wall and entered, and pushed me, after which two individuals forcibly grabbed Iqrarul Hassan. While taking him into custody, the officials also took mobile phones and a laptop from the house, and while leaving, they also uprooted the entire CCTV camera system and took it with them, while on attempting to make a video, her phone was also snatched. Farah Iqrar said that the arm of one female official had “NCCIA” written on it.
