Imposition of Governor’s Rule and Emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Is a Constitutional Step, Says BAP Spokesperson

Quetta (Qudrat Daily): The central spokesperson of the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), while describing the imposition of Governor’s Rule and emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a constitutional step, has said that the federal government invited the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership for negotiations on multiple occasions. However, due to an unserious political attitude and a lack of effective cooperation in the war against terrorism, the federal government was compelled to take an important and difficult decision.

In a statement issued by the party, the spokesperson said that in order to deal with a serious national challenge like terrorism, it is the need of the hour to set aside political differences and prioritize national interest, national security, and the protection of the people.

The spokesperson further stated that the war against terrorism is not the war of any single party or government but a shared struggle of the entire nation, in which all political forces must demonstrate responsibility and move forward alongside state institutions.

Political differences and power struggles should not be allowed to overshadow matters of national security, as the establishment of lasting peace in the country is the shared responsibility of all political forces.

The spokesperson noted that numerous efforts were made to persuade the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to engage in negotiations and adopt a joint strategy against terrorism. However, due to a lack of progress, the federal government decided to take the constitutional route.
