Youth’s Future Is Not in the Mountains; They Were Misled by a Specific Narrative and Pushed into a Futile War and Handed Guns: Mir Sarfraz Bugti

QUETTA (Daily Qudrat Quetta) – Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has said that the future of Balochistan’s youth is not in the mountains but is linked to sports grounds, employment opportunities, and a peaceful Pakistan. Baloch youth were pushed into a futile war and handed guns; however, the provincial government is taking practical steps to include youth in the national mainstream by providing them with positive activities, employment, and development opportunities. Sports grounds will be kept populated in all districts of Balochistan, and large-scale sports competitions will be organized for youth on a continuous basis. He expressed these views while talking to the media on Friday on the occasion of the final of the All-Pakistan Chief Minister Balochistan Gold Cup Football Tournament at Ayub Stadium, Quetta. The Chief Minister congratulated the Sports Department, Provincial Minister for Sports, Secretary Sports, tournament organizers, and the spectators who came to watch the match on the successful conduct of the final, and also awarded trophies to the winning and runner-up teams, including the Afghan club that won the championship. Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that today is a day of great joy for Balochistan. Populating sports grounds and providing youth with opportunities for healthy activities is among the priorities of the provincial government. The Balochistan government will organize large-scale sports competitions in all districts of the province so that youth can get opportunities to prove their abilities and sports activities can be promoted in the province. He said that the provincial government is launching employment and livelihood programs for youth. Youth must understand that their future lies not in terrorism and violence but in education, sports, employment, and the building of a peaceful society. He said that through a specific and misleading narrative, Baloch youth were distanced from the state, guns were placed in their hands, and they were made part of a war from which they would gain nothing. The Chief Minister said that in the past, attempts were made to create the impression that state representatives cannot go among the people, but today we are present among the people and in contact with the youth. To bring youth into the national mainstream, it is necessary that sports grounds be populated, meaningful dialogue be held with them, and merit and an end to corruption be ensured. He said that the government gathers people to provide them with opportunities for sports, positive activities, and happiness, while terrorist elements gather people and resort to attacks on cities and violence. Addressing the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he said that people should be gathered for sports and recreational festivals, not for storming the federal capital. On the identification of the condition of Sadiq Shaheed Football Ground and the nearby family park, the Chief Minister issued immediate orders to the Provincial Minister for Sports present on the occasion for the immediate renovation and repair of both locations so that players and city families could have better facilities. Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti made it clear that the government will continue its efforts for peace, stability, and development in Balochistan. He said that in the war against terrorism, the Balochistan government stands shoulder to shoulder with the state and state institutions and is ready to make every kind of sacrifice for the establishment of peace and security.
