PM Shehbaz Says KP Must Benefit From Development and Prosperity Like Other Parts of Pakistan
ISLAMABAD:Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said the government wants Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) to achieve development and prosperity on the same lines as other parts of the country.
The prime minister made these remarks during a meeting with Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Engineer Amir Muqam, during which the security situation in KP and other administrative matters were discussed in detail.
During the meeting, Amir Muqam briefed the prime minister on ongoing development projects and overall progress in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed that the welfare, development and provision of basic facilities to the people of AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan must be ensured at all costs. He said the prosperity and well-being of the people of these regions remain among the government’s top priorities.
The security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also came under discussion. Prime Minister Shehbaz stressed the need to stop the growing wave of terrorism in the province at all costs.
He said the government sincerely desired that the people of KP should also benefit from development, prosperity and economic opportunities like people in other parts of Pakistan.
The prime minister also paid tribute to the sacrifices made by the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the fight against terrorism, saying the state highly valued their enduring sacrifices.
