Pakistan Issues Visas for 87 Indian Hindu Pilgrims for Religious Celebrations in Sindh

Islamabad:In a significant goodwill gesture, the Pakistani government has granted visas to 87 Indian Hindu pilgrims to attend religious events in Sindh. The pilgrims will participate in the 316th birth anniversary celebrations of the revered Hindu saint, Satguru Shadaram Sahib, which will be held at the Shadani Darbar in Hiyat Hatafi, Sindh.

The Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi announced the decision on Friday, stating that the pilgrims have been granted visas for the period from November 24 to December 4, 2024. During this time, the pilgrims will join the religious ceremonies marking the birth of Shadaram Sahib, a prominent figure in the Hindu community.

This step follows Pakistan’s broader efforts to enhance cultural and religious ties with neighboring India. Earlier, Pakistan also extended a gesture of goodwill by issuing commemorative coins on the occasion of Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary, sending a message of peace and cooperation.

The move is seen as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts to foster better relations between the two countries, particularly through religious and cultural exchanges.
