Punjab E-Bike Scheme 2026: Students to Get Interest-Free Financing, Free Helmets and Riding Training
LAHORE: Details of the Punjab Chief Minister’s E-Bike Scheme 2026 have been released, under which eligible male and female students will receive interest-free financing, government subsidies and easy monthly installment facilities to purchase electric bikes.
Students enrolled in eligible public and private educational institutions across Punjab will be able to benefit from the scheme. Applicants must be at least 16 years old and possess a valid driving licence or learner’s permit along with a computerized national identity card (CNIC).
Parents or legal guardians can act as guarantors for the scheme, while the mobile number provided in the application must also be registered in the guarantor’s name.
Students can submit their applications online for the Punjab CM E-Bike Scheme 2026 until October 4, 2026, through the official government portal.
Under the scheme, eligible students will receive an electric bike equipped with a 72-volt, 30-ampere-hour battery and a 1,000-watt motor. The bike is expected to have a maximum speed of approximately 50 to 55 kilometres per hour.
Students participating in the scheme will also receive free scooter-riding training. Five scooter training centres have been established in Lahore for this purpose, including Absher Driving School Liberty, Khidmat Markaz Greater Iqbal Park, Traffic Police Lines Manawan and LOS Ferozepur Road.
Students wishing to receive scooter-riding training will be required to bring their CNIC.
The Lahore Traffic Police has also designated special counters at the training centres for issuing scooter licences, making it easier for students to obtain their licences along with the training.
In addition, eligible students participating in the programme will be provided with free helmets and safety equipment.
