PUBG Friendship Leads to Marriage: American Girl Ties the Knot with Pakistani Boy in Chitral

Chitral: A friendship formed through the Chinese online game PUBG has led to a cross-border marriage. 23-year-old Shahad Hussain from Chitral recently married 18-year-old American girl, Flores Sarah, after developing a close bond over the game. Sarah traveled to Pakistan and the couple tied the knot in a simple ceremony in Chitral.
The wedding ceremony took place at a local hotel, with Maulana Khaleeq-uz-Zaman Kakakhail, the Imam of Shahid Mosque Chitral, officiating the Nikah. The marriage was conducted with Sarah’s full consent, and her mother was also present at the ceremony. Since “Sarah” is an Islamic name, there was no need for her to change it after conversion.
According to Raisuddin, a resident of Mroi in Chitral, Shahad and Sarah had known each other for three years. Sarah had discussed the matter with her mother and, after receiving her approval, decided to marry Shahad.
The wedding was a blend of local traditions and customs. Sarah wore a traditional bridal dress, while her mother also donned the local attire for the occasion. Women from remote areas of the region attended the event, making it a joyous and culturally rich celebration.
