PTI Leadership Aware of Imran Khan’s Eye Pain Since February 9, Sources Say

**Islamabad:** The leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had been aware of party founder Imran Khan’s eye discomfort since February 9, but allegedly did not treat the matter with urgency, according to party sources.

Sources said the information was conveyed to the party leadership through Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif. They claimed that Bushra Bibi had informed Barrister Saif about Imran Khan’s eye pain, after which he relayed the message to senior party figures. However, insiders allege that the concern was not given significant importance at the time.

Party sources further stated that Barrister Saif also communicated other messages from Bushra Bibi to the leadership. Some PTI leaders are reportedly unhappy with adopting an aggressive stance regarding Imran Khan’s eye condition.

Meanwhile, efforts were made to contact Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif for comment, but both refrained from issuing any official statement.

It is noteworthy that the medical report regarding Imran Khan’s eye examination has now surfaced. According to the report, he was examined on February 15, 2026, by a medical board comprising ophthalmology specialists. The board included Professor Dr. Nadeem Qureshi from Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital and Professor Dr. Muhammad Arif Khan from PIMS Islamabad.

The report states that the visual acuity in Imran Khan’s right eye was recorded at 6/24 partial without glasses, while the left eye was 6/9. With corrective lenses, the vision in the right eye improved to 6/9 partial and the left eye to 6/6.

Doctors noted signs of inflammation in the retina of the right eye. However, swelling in the eye has reportedly reduced, with thickness decreasing from 550 to 350, which doctors described as a sign of improvement.

Separately, PTI leadership continues its sit-ins at Parliament House and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad.
