Inventor Revealed Behind Driverless Car That Crashed Into Islamabad Police Van
ISLAMABAD: The mystery behind a humorous video of a driverless car crashing into an Islamabad Police van has finally been solved, with police not only clarifying the incident but also praising the young inventor involved.
Abbottabad resident and COMSATS University student Ehsan Zafar Abbasi explained the incident in a video message alongside SP City Zone Dr. Ayaz Hussain.
Ehsan said he had been involved in scientific experiments since 2018 and had established a laboratory at his home. On the day of the incident, he was in Islamabad for an interview about his invention—a car that can be controlled remotely through the internet.
During the interview, the cameraman asked him to turn his mobile phone toward the camera and demonstrate how the vehicle was controlled. At that moment, a minor human error occurred.

While turning the phone toward the camera, Ehsan accidentally pressed the button to turn the car left instead of right. The vehicle then moved toward an Islamabad Police van parked on the left and crashed into it.
SP City Zone Dr. Ayaz Hussain said in his video message that the incident had been investigated and there was no evidence of malicious intent or criminal negligence.
He said the incident was simply the result of a human error during a scientific experiment.
Dr. Ayaz Hussain added that Islamabad Police considers hardworking and talented young people to be the bright future of the country and encouraged them to continue their innovative work.
Instead of issuing a challan, Islamabad Police praised the young inventor for his efforts, bringing an amusing end to the viral incident.
