Social Media Has Already Arranged My Engagement and Marriage, Says Bilawal Bhutto

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has denied reports circulating on social media about his engagement and marriage, saying social media had already “arranged” both for him.

In a video message posted on X, Bilawal said, “Social media has not only arranged my match, but has also arranged my engagement and marriage.” He clarified that nothing of the sort had happened and said he did not know anyone named Princess Gloria.

Bilawal described the rumors as a “social media spectacle” aimed at diverting public attention from real issues.

He pointed to the deaths of 14 children at PIMS in Islamabad and criticized political discussions over the creation of new provinces. He also criticized a minister whom he accused of wanting to divide Pakistan into 30 parts while being unable to manage a single hospital.

Bilawal said that while a minister in Lahore was reportedly discussing the creation and administration of new provinces with businessmen, the Sindh Assembly had taken a firm position that the division of provinces could not be discussed either on the streets or at a business forum in Lahore.

He said the matter would be discussed and decided in the Sindh Assembly, which, he noted, was among the first assemblies to become part of Pakistan.

Bilawal added that if any decision concerning his personal life was made, his family would make the official announcement. He urged people to focus on genuine national issues and ignore what he called social media spectacles.
