Quetta Faces Rising Crime as Armed Robbers Injure Citizen and Escape with Rs800,000

QUETTA: Law and order concerns have intensified in Quetta after two unidentified armed men allegedly shot and injured a citizen and fled with Rs800,000 in cash in broad daylight.

According to sources, the incident took place within the jurisdiction of Khaliq Shaheed Police Station on Link Badini Road near Eastern Bypass. Two armed men riding a motorcycle reportedly targeted a citizen and opened fire before snatching the cash and escaping from the scene.

The victim was identified as Hayatullah, son of Muhammad Qasim, a member of the Noorzai community and resident of Ata Muhammad Barma. He sustained injuries when the suspects allegedly opened fire, either to intimidate him or in response to resistance.

The incident caused panic among residents of the area, with citizens expressing serious concern over the apparent increase in armed robberies and open firing.

Police reached the scene and began collecting evidence, while efforts are underway to trace and arrest the suspects.

Residents have demanded the immediate arrest of the accused and effective measures to curb the growing incidents of robbery and improve security in the city.
