Maryam Nawaz Approves Rs36 Billion Dadocha Dam Water Supply Project for Rawalpindi

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved a Rs36 billion project for the construction of a surface water treatment plant and water supply system at Dadocha Dam in Rawalpindi.

According to officials, the project is targeted for completion by December 2029 and is aimed at improving the supply of clean and safe drinking water to residents of Rawalpindi.

Under the project, around 35 million gallons of treated water per day will be added to the water supply system. The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) will also construct the transmission line and water distribution network required for the project.

Officials said the Dadocha Dam project would play an important role in improving the availability of clean drinking water for the people of Rawalpindi and strengthening the city’s water supply infrastructure.

The project is expected to provide a long-term solution to the city’s growing demand for safe and treated water.
