Pakistan Likely to Make Changes for Lord’s Test Against England

Pakistan are likely to make changes to their playing XI for the second Test against England at Lord’s, with the match scheduled to begin on August 27.

According to sources, the final playing XI will be decided after the team reaches London and assesses the local conditions.

The team management is considering changes following Pakistan’s heavy innings-and-101-run defeat in the Leeds Test. Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan could be rested for the Lord’s Test.

Sources said the management is hopeful that Babar Azam will return after missing the first Test due to a finger injury. If Babar returns, Azeem Owais is likely to make way for him.

Pakistan could also field two spinners at Lord’s due to the expected dry conditions in London. Fast bowler Ubaid Shah is also being considered for selection because of his pace.

Sources said the conditions in London are expected to be different and relatively dry, while a flat pitch is anticipated for the second Test.
