LAHORE: Actress Fiza Ali has reacted to the divorce between actress Nimra Khan and her former husband, urging him to maintain respect for women even after the end of a marriage.
Nimra Khan recently got married for the second time and shared wedding pictures with her new family on social media. However, differences reportedly emerged between the couple shortly afterwards, with both sides sharing posts about each other on social media.
Nimra Khan’s husband initially shared a “good riddance” message on social media, which users interpreted as a sign of their separation. He later confirmed the divorce while expressing good wishes for his former wife.
Reacting to the former husband’s post, Fiza Ali criticised his approach and stressed the importance of treating women with dignity.
She said a man should always behave respectfully and questioned what had been happening in the relationship if ending it had brought him so much relief.
Fiza Ali said a woman who is no longer part of a man’s life still deserves respect because she will eventually move forward with her own life.
“Don’t turn divorce into a victory announcement. You didn’t win a trophy; a relationship ended, not a woman’s dignity,” she said.
Addressing Nimra Khan, Fiza Ali encouraged her to keep her head held high, saying that the end of a relationship does not reduce a woman’s worth and that statements such as “good riddance” do not determine her value.
