‘We Must Keep Pakistan Away from Politics of Hatred,’ Says Islamabad High Court Chief Justice
ISLAMABAD (Qudrat Daily): Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Sarfraz Dogar has said that public confidence in the Islamabad High Court and district courts has increased significantly, with the number of cases being filed daily rising nearly fivefold.
Addressing a ceremony held at the Islamabad High Court on the occasion of Independence Day, Justice Sarfraz Dogar said that despite difficulties caused by a shortage of judges, the courts were continuing to perform their duties with full commitment.
He said that previously, daily case filings at the high court rarely exceeded 50, whereas the court was now receiving around 250 cases every day. According to him, the fivefold increase was a clear indicator that people were increasingly turning to the courts for relief.

The Chief Justice said the most important and fundamental role of the judiciary was to ensure that the rights of every deserving person were delivered to them through impartiality and complete transparency. He added that the bench and the bar were two indispensable pillars of the same judicial system.
Justice Sarfraz Dogar said that Allah Almighty had entrusted the responsibility of protecting the country to the people of Pakistan. “We have to keep Pakistan away from turmoil, disorder, chaos and the politics of hatred,” he said.
He stressed that everyone must play a positive role in the country’s development with sincerity, love and mutual respect.
The Chief Justice said Pakistan had achieved significant successes on both the diplomatic and defence fronts over the past two years, adding that the country had emerged as a representative of peace on the international stage.
He said Pakistan had gained a prominent position globally as a result of its diplomatic efforts. On the defence front, he described bringing all Islamic countries together on one platform and reaching a historic defence cooperation agreement as a major achievement.
Justice Sarfraz Dogar said the development represented a historic vision that former prime minister and PPP founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had once envisioned among the community of nations.
