Over 5,000 Pakistani Beggars Deported from Foreign Countries Since 2024, Most from Saudi Arabia

Islamabad: Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior has revealed in the National Assembly that a total of 5,402 Pakistani beggars have been deported from various countries since the beginning of 2024.
According to a written report submitted to the lower house, the highest number of deportations occurred from Saudi Arabia, which sent back 5,033 Pakistani beggars.
Breakdown for 2024:
In the year 2024 alone, 4,850 Pakistani beggars were deported from different countries. The country-wise details are as follows:
Saudi Arabia: 4,498
Iraq: 242
Malaysia: 55
United Arab Emirates (UAE): 49
Breakdown for 2025 (So far):
During the ongoing year 2025, 552 Pakistani beggars have been deported to date:
Saudi Arabia: 535
UAE: 9
Iraq: 5
The report also mentioned countries like Qatar and Oman, although individual figures for deportations from these nations were not provided.
The data presented by the Interior Ministry highlights the urgent need for better oversight and welfare mechanisms for Pakistanis residing abroad, particularly to curb illegal or exploitative activities.
