Two Alleged Street Crime Suspects Killed in Police Encounter in Quetta
Quetta: Two alleged street crime suspects were killed in an exchange of fire during a police operation in Quetta carried out as part of the ongoing crackdown against criminal elements, police officials said.
The operation was conducted by Station House Officer (SHO) Civil Lines, Inspector Jawad Haider, along with his team, under the special directives of Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Quetta, Zia-ul-Haq Mandokhail.
According to police, the deceased suspects were allegedly involved in multiple street crime incidents across the city, including the snatching of mobile phones and motorcycles. The suspects were killed after they opened fire during the operation, prompting police to retaliate.
Police officials said that three stolen mobile phones, one motorcycle, and two pistols were recovered from the possession of the suspects during the operation.
Following the incident, legal formalities were completed and a case has been registered in accordance with the law, police added.
SSP Operations Zia-ul-Haq Mandokhail praised the police team’s timely and effective action, reiterating that the protection of citizens’ lives and property remains the Quetta Police’s foremost priority.
He stated that indiscriminate operations against individuals involved in street crimes, robberies, and other criminal activities will continue with full force to ensure public safety and maintain law and order in the provincial capital.
