Foreign Women Kidnapping and Rape Case: Suspect’s Family Denies Links to Main Accused, Seeks Transparent Investigation

Lahore: The family of Sajid Khan, one of the suspects arrested in the alleged kidnapping and rape case involving two foreign women, has denied that he has any connection to the main accused, Raza Dar, and has called for a transparent investigation.

Speaking to local media, Sajid Khan’s wife, Shaheen Bibi, and his brother said that Sajid worked as a security guard and cleaner at a house, where he was also responsible for handing over keys to tenants on behalf of the property owner.

According to the family, Sajid received a phone call at around 4:00 a.m. on the 2nd of the month, asking him to bring a replacement key because the tenant had reportedly lost the original. They said he left home and never returned.

His family claimed that Sajid later called at around 8:30 a.m., informing them that he was at a police station and that the matter was minor. They said he was later transferred to Defence C Police Station, where a criminal case was registered against him.

Sajid’s brother alleged that the property where the incident reportedly occurred had been rented to a man identified as Hassan for two months. He insisted that Sajid had no relationship with Raza Dar or the other suspects arrested in the case.

Shaheen Bibi said her husband did not even know the two foreign women involved in the case, adding that he has been caring for their three daughters for the past 11 years.

The family urged investigators to examine CCTV footage from the surrounding area, stating that although the camera at their own home was not working, nearby surveillance cameras could help establish the facts.

They also appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to ensure a fair and transparent investigation. Sajid’s brother said the family would accept any legal consequences if his guilt were proven.

Meanwhile, police said that eight suspects have so far been arrested in the case and that the investigation is continuing based on DNA analysis and other forensic evidence.
