Balochistan CM Announces Full Support for Hanna Urak Victims’ Families, Pledges Education for Martyrs’ Children Until Age 16

Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has announced that the provincial government will provide full financial support, including education and scholarships, for the children of those killed in the recent Hanna Urak attack until they reach the age of 16.
Speaking to the media after visiting those injured in the attack at a local hospital, the chief minister said the government would ensure the best possible medical treatment for the wounded and would not leave the families of the victims without support.
Bugti paid tribute to the victims, stating that while no financial compensation could replace the loss of a human life, the government would stand by the affected families. He said financial assistance cheques were being distributed to the next of kin of those killed.
He further announced that the Balochistan government would bear the cost of the martyrs’ children’s education, scholarships, guardianship, and other essential expenses until the age of 16 to help secure their future.
The chief minister praised the professionalism and courage of the Balochistan Police, saying police personnel, law enforcement agencies, and security forces had demonstrated exceptional bravery and dedication in the fight against terrorism. He noted that one police officer had been injured for the fourth time in the past three to four months while confronting militants, describing it as a testament to the force’s commitment.
Bugti also commended the efforts of all law enforcement institutions, saying each was fulfilling its constitutional responsibilities in combating terrorism. He alleged that militants typically carry out brief attacks on soft targets, harm civilians, and use videos for propaganda before fleeing, but stressed that the state would not allow such tactics to undermine its resolve.
According to the chief minister, the provincial home minister, the Inspector General of Police, senior police officials, and other authorities reached the attack site immediately after the incident and coordinated the response.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to restoring peace, Bugti said terrorism would not succeed in intimidating the people of Balochistan or weakening the state. He pledged that operations against militants, their facilitators, and anti-state elements would continue without discrimination, while ensuring the protection of citizens’ lives and property and pursuing lasting peace across the province.
