Pakistan Played Key Role in Promoting Peace During US-Iran Conflict, Says Ishaq Dar

Lahore: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said that Pakistan played an important role in promoting peace during the recent tensions between the United States and Iran, adding that the country is now recognized internationally as a force for peace.
Speaking at a ceremony held after the traditional washing of the shrine of Data Ganj Bakhsh in Lahore, Dar said that “Allah enabled Pakistan to contribute towards peace” during the US-Iran conflict. He credited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his leadership and praised Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for his efforts in support of regional stability.
Dar stated that Pakistan’s name is being recognized around the world and that the country is increasingly viewed as a promoter of peace and dialogue.
The deputy prime minister said Pakistan was among the first countries to condemn attacks on Iran and stood by the neighboring country during a difficult period. He maintained that Pakistan strongly opposed actions against a fellow Muslim nation and highlighted Islamabad’s diplomatic stance during the crisis.
Turning to the economy, Dar said the government had helped stabilize an economy that was facing severe challenges and was now focused on transforming Pakistan into a stronger economic power. He praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s efforts and urged citizens to pray for the country’s prosperity and development.
He also asserted that attempts to isolate Pakistan internationally had failed and said the country would continue to defend its sovereignty and national interests. According to Dar, Pakistan treats all countries equally regardless of their size and remains committed to maintaining its independent foreign policy.
The remarks came as Pakistan continues diplomatic engagement with regional and international partners on issues related to peace, security, and economic cooperation.
