Authorities Reject Claims of Road Closures to Azad Kashmir, Say Traffic Flow Remains Normal

Mansehra: Authorities have dismissed reports claiming that entry routes between Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) have been closed, stating that all major access points remain fully operational and that the movement of people and vehicles continues without interruption.

Officials said that normal traffic flow can be observed at the Bararkot checkpoint in the Mansehra district, where residents of both Azad Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are crossing freely.

According to the officer in charge of the Bararkot police checkpoint, citizens are allowed to travel in both directions after routine documentation and security checks. He added that cargo vehicles are also operating as usual, transporting food supplies and other essential goods.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Munir Qureshi stated that there is no shortage of food items in Muzaffarabad and that supply chains remain unaffected.

Senior Superintendent of Police Riaz Mughal said that personnel deployed at entry points are conducting only routine security checks and that no restrictions have been imposed on public or commercial transportation.

Drivers and traders involved in the transportation of food and other goods also expressed satisfaction with the uninterrupted movement of supplies.

Officials said that on-ground evidence and videos showing normal traffic activity have contradicted claims circulating on social media regarding the alleged closure of routes leading to Azad Kashmir.
