Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stated that the United States and Iran are very close to reaching a peace agreement, expressing hope that the deal will be finalized within the next 24 hours.
In a statement posted on social media, the prime minister said Pakistan is preparing for the electronic signing of the agreement. He added that technical-level negotiations are scheduled to take place next week and thanked both the United States and Iran for their constructive engagement and continued commitment to the talks.
Sharif said he is confident that the historic peace agreement would provide a strong foundation for lasting peace, stability, and cooperation across the region.
In his post, the prime minister tagged US President Donald Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump also expressed optimism about the negotiations, saying that an agreement with Iran is expected to be signed tomorrow.
