Maulana Fazlur Rehman Vows Not to Hand Over Religious Schools to Government, Cites Lack of Trust in Institutions

*Islamabad:* Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has stated that religious schools (madrasas) are the guardians of Islam, the teachings of the Quran and Hadith, and the gift of faith, and they will never be handed over to government institutions.
Speaking at the turban-tying ceremony at Madrasa Taleem-ul-Quran in Raja Bazaar, Rawalpindi, Maulana Fazlur Rehman expressed gratitude to Maulana Ashraf Ali for allowing him to attend the event.
He remarked that although global governance may largely rest in the hands of the United States, it does not possess the power of faith, which is why religious schools play a crucial role in safeguarding faith.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman further criticized efforts to privatize entities like PIA while attempting to take control of madrasas, declaring such actions completely unacceptable.
