BISP Budget Increased by Rs122 Billion, Total Allocation Reaches Rs838 Billion

Islamabad: The federal government has significantly increased the allocation for the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) in the Budget 2026-27, raising it by Rs122 billion to a total of Rs838 billion.

According to official budget documents, the BISP allocation has been increased from Rs716 billion in the previous fiscal year to Rs838 billion for the upcoming financial year.

The documents further show that Rs146 billion has been allocated for the Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, while Rs88 billion has been set aside for the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan.

For the next fiscal year, Rs10 billion has been allocated for Bait-ul-Mal, and Rs110 million has been earmarked for the National Disaster Risk Management Fund.

Additionally, Rs500 million has been allocated for the EPI Programme, while Rs2.9 billion has been maintained for the Aspire Women Benefit Programme.

The Higher Education Commission has been allocated Rs65 billion, while Rs54 billion has been proposed for security enhancement initiatives.

The Financial Monitoring Unit will receive Rs1 billion, and Rs1 billion has been allocated for the Crop Loan Insurance Scheme.

According to the documents, Rs700 million has been set aside for the Livestock Insurance Scheme, while Rs500 million has been allocated for the rehabilitation programme of poor and flood-affected families.
