Pakistan, Lebanon Agree to Enhance Military Cooperation During High-Level Meeting at GHQ

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, met with Lebanon’s Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Rodolphe Haykal, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi to discuss bilateral defense ties and regional security issues.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Haykal was presented with a guard of honor by a smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Army upon his arrival at GHQ.
During the meeting, the two military leaders exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, the regional security environment, and defense cooperation. Both sides agreed to strengthen professional military relations and expand training collaboration between the armed forces of Pakistan and Lebanon.
Field Marshal Asim Munir emphasized the importance of the longstanding and cordial relationship between the two countries and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further enhancing defense cooperation with the Lebanese Armed Forces.
The ISPR stated that General Haykal praised the professionalism and operational capabilities of Pakistan’s armed forces and acknowledged Pakistan’s contributions toward regional peace and stability.
The Lebanese military chief also appreciated Pakistan’s role in international peacekeeping missions. Both sides expressed their shared resolve to deepen military cooperation and promote stronger institutional links between the armed forces of the two countries.
