PML-N MPA Saqib Chadhar Alleges Actress Momina Iqbal Encouraged His Wife to Seek Divorce

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MPA Saqib Chadhar has alleged that actress Momina Iqbal encouraged his wife to seek a divorce, according to a statement submitted to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in connection with a case involving allegations of harassment and death threats.

In his statement, Chadhar claimed that he first met Momina Iqbal in 2020 and that the two soon developed a close relationship. He said they traveled together on multiple occasions, both within Pakistan and abroad, and that he personally covered all related expenses.

The lawmaker further alleged that Momina Iqbal and her family concealed details regarding her previous marriage and divorce, and that he decided against marriage after learning of those facts. He stated that he ended his relationship with the actress in August 2025.

Chadhar also claimed that Momina Iqbal’s sister, Rimsha Iqbal, received 10,000 Australian dollars through blackmail and that he paid an additional 13,000 Australian dollars toward her university tuition fees. He further alleged that he transferred Rs8.3 million to Momina Iqbal’s bank account at various times.

According to the MPA, Momina Iqbal possesses numerous photographs and videos, and unidentified individuals allegedly threatened to release the material publicly. He said he had asked both Momina and her sister not to share any such content and maintained that the actress was fully aware that he was married.

Chadhar also alleged that there were contradictions and misrepresentations in the complaint submitted to the NCCIA and police. He claimed that Momina Iqbal’s husband, Hamza, had issued death threats against him and said that an FIR had been registered in Chiniot in this regard.

Meanwhile, a sessions court in Lahore has issued a written order confirming the approval of interim bail for Saqib Chadhar and his wife, Samira.

Additional Sessions Judge Irfan Ahmad Sheikh, in his written order, stated that the applicants had approached the court seeking interim bail. The court directed both accused persons to join the investigation and ordered them to appear before the court on every hearing date until a final decision on their bail applications is made.

It is worth noting that the NCCIA has registered a case against Saqib Chadhar and his wife, while the allegations made by the parties remain subject to investigation and legal proceedings.
