Benazir Income Support Programme Issues Important Alert: Registered Women Urged to Beware of Fraud

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) – The administration of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has warned registered women and other deserving individuals against fake messages and fraudsters. Officials have directed citizens not to trust suspicious messages received via social media, WhatsApp, or unknown numbers.

Attempts to Obtain Information Through Fake Messages

According to the BISP administration, attempts are being made through fake messages on social media and WhatsApp to obtain citizens’ national identity card (CNIC) pictures, bank account details, or other personal information.

Officials have clarified that such messages have no connection with the Benazir Income Support Programme. Citizens have been specifically directed to remain cautious of messages that claim approval of any amount or financial assistance.

Warning Against Fake Notification of Rs 75,600

According to officials, messages are being sent via WhatsApp or personal numbers claiming approval of Rs 75,600 or any other amount, in exchange for which front and back pictures of the CNIC are being demanded.

The BISP administration has clarified that such messages are fake and citizens should not provide their identity documents or personal information in response to them.

Pay Attention Only to Messages from 8171

Officials have stated that the verified code 8171 is used for official messages, eligibility, and other information related to the programme.

Citizens have been directed not to provide their personal information in response to any message received from an unknown number, WhatsApp account, or social media page.

Do Not Share CNIC Pictures

The Benazir Income Support Programme has specifically warned citizens not to share copies of their national identity card, front or back pictures, or other personal information on unknown numbers under any circumstances.

In case of receiving a suspicious message, citizens should first verify it so that they can be protected from fraud and the misuse of personal information.
