Iran and Saudi Arabia Can Bring Peace to the Region Together, Says Araghchi

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that Saudi Arabia is a major country and an important player in the region, adding that Iran and Saudi Arabia can work together to bring peace and stability to the Middle East.
In a statement, Araghchi said that Iran has always attached great importance to its relationship with Saudi Arabia. He also dismissed the possibility of a meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Iran’s Supreme Leader, saying such an idea is not realistic and that Trump is living in a “fantasy world” disconnected from reality.
Earlier, in an interview, the Iranian foreign minister stated that Mojtaba Khamenei is helping lead Iran with full authority and that communication with the Supreme Leader remains continuous. He said directives from the country’s leadership are conveyed to officials without delay.
Araghchi stressed that any ceasefire must apply across all fronts, including Lebanon. He reiterated that Iran does not seek war but warned that if aggression is imposed on the country, Tehran would respond decisively.
The foreign minister also revealed that he was present at the Supreme Leader’s office during an attack on February 28. According to Araghchi, there was uncertainty regarding Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s situation for two days following the incident.
