Will a TV Drama Be Made on Anmol Alias Pinky? Rumors Spark Buzz on Social Media

Karachi: Speculation is growing on social media that the controversial case of alleged “drug queen” Anmol alias Pinky may be adapted into a television drama, although no official announcement has yet been made by the producers reportedly linked to the project.
According to reports circulating online, Geo Entertainment and Seventh Sky Entertainment are allegedly considering a biographical drama based on the high-profile case that has dominated headlines in recent weeks.
Several entertainment pages and showbiz websites have claimed that Saba Qamar is being considered for the lead role, while the script is reportedly being written by Shahzeb Khanzada. However, these reports remain unconfirmed.
The speculation gained further momentum after Saba Qamar shared posts related to the reports on her Instagram Stories, prompting fans to wonder whether the project is indeed under development.
The case first drew national attention in May when Karachi police arrested Anmol alias Pinky during a raid in the Garden area. Authorities alleged that narcotics, weapons, and digital evidence were recovered during the operation. Investigators later claimed the case involved a wider and technologically sophisticated network rather than a single individual.
According to police statements, orders for narcotics were allegedly received through WhatsApp and other online platforms, with deliveries reportedly carried out by motorcycle riders across different areas of the city. Investigators have also alleged that individuals from multiple cities, financial facilitators, and foreign nationals may have been connected to the network.
Public interest in the case intensified after videos circulated on social media showing the accused being presented in court without handcuffs, triggering debate and calls for further inquiry. The matter later reached parliamentary discussions, with demands for greater transparency regarding individuals allegedly linked to the network.
Police have stated that multiple cases have been registered against the accused in Karachi and Lahore and that several federal agencies are participating in the investigation. Authorities say forensic examinations of financial records, bank accounts, communications, and digital data are ongoing.
If the rumored project materializes, it would represent a rare example of a Pakistani television drama based on a recent, high-profile criminal investigation. For now, however, reports of the drama remain speculative, and neither the production company nor the broadcaster has formally confirmed the project.
