MQM-Pakistan Bahadurabad Office Built on Encroached Land, Claims Jamaat-e-Islami

Karachi: The Jamaat-e-Islami (Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi) has alleged that the central Bahadurabad office of MQM-Pakistan is also built on encroached land, intensifying political tensions between the two parties.
Speaking at a press conference at Idara Noor-e-Haq, acting Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, Saifuddin Advocate, said that MQM-Pakistan (MQM-Pakistan) leadership recently held a press conference over alleged land encroachments at Hill Park, but, according to him, their own Bahadurabad office is also constructed on illegally occupied land, claiming it was built by occupying a passage between two buildings.
He criticized MQM-P’s leadership, saying the party was also responsible for Karachi’s long-standing decline and accused it of hypocrisy over its stance on land issues.
Saifuddin Advocate also referred to past political leadership and governance in Karachi, mentioning figures such as Farooq Sattar, Waseem Akhtar, and Mustafa Kamal, alleging their involvement in irregularities during their respective tenures.
He further claimed that major development and civic projects in Karachi, including water and waste management systems, were misrepresented in political narratives. He cited the K-IV water project, saying it was initiated earlier than claimed by some leaders and referenced documents supporting his statement.
Criticizing civic services, he said Karachi’s solid waste management system was not functioning properly and alleged mismanagement within the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board.
He also highlighted severe civic issues in the city, including water shortages, electricity disruptions, gas scarcity, and rising tanker water prices, claiming that residents were being forced to buy expensive tanker water due to system failures.
He warned that if water supply conditions did not improve within three days, Jamaat-e-Islami would launch protests across the city.
The remarks add to ongoing political disputes between Jamaat-e-Islami and MQM-P over governance and infrastructure issues in Karachi.
