Balochistan Bar Council Condemns Use of Force Against Women and Children at Missing Persons Protest

Quetta:The Balochistan Bar Council has strongly condemned the use of force, including baton charges and the arrest of women and children, during a protest by the families of missing persons in Hub. In a statement, the council expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in Balochistan, with frequent road blockages and unlawful arrests.

The statement accused the current provincial government of failing to address the public’s issues, claiming that since its establishment, the government has been marked by corruption, mismanagement, and nepotism. The Bar Council emphasized that the people of Balochistan have lost trust in both the provincial and federal governments, and the issue of missing persons has reached a critical point.

Families of the missing persons have been protesting daily for the recovery of their loved ones, leading to a severed connection between Balochistan and other provinces. The statement also highlighted the growing disillusionment with the judiciary, as people have become frustrated with the lack of justice and accountability.

The Balochistan Bar Council condemned the use of force at the protest site in Hub Bhawani, calling the arrest of women and children and the subsequent baton charge unacceptable. The council urged the government to take immediate action to ensure the recovery of missing persons and to release the detained women and children without delay.
