UAE Dismantles Major Drug Smuggling Network; 13 Arrested in International Operation

Abu Dhabi: Authorities in the United Arab Emirates have dismantled a major international drug trafficking network and arrested 13 individuals in a coordinated security operation.
According to officials, the operation was carried out after a month-long covert surveillance and intelligence-led investigation targeting an organized smuggling ring operating across multiple countries.
In an official statement issued from Abu Dhabi, the UAE National Anti-Narcotics Authority said the arrested suspects include citizens from India, Pakistan, Iran, Egypt, and Sri Lanka.
Authorities confirmed that the detainees include four Indian nationals, four Iranian nationals, two Pakistani nationals, along with other foreign nationals involved in the network.
During the operation, security forces recovered more than 56 kilograms of illegal narcotics and over 8,000 narcotic tablets, which were allegedly intended for smuggling to different international destinations.
Officials stated that the successful raid exposed a large-scale trafficking network and marked a significant step in preventing the regional and international distribution of illegal drugs.
Investigations are ongoing to identify further links and accomplices associated with the smuggling operation.
