Bail Granted to Woman in Fake Documents Case Involving IT Workers

Karachi: An additional district and sessions court in Karachi has approved the bail application of a woman accused in a case related to the preparation of fake documents for IT workers.
The case, heard at the Judicial Complex, involves allegations that the accused, identified as Aalia Batool, along with others, created forged documents allegedly for North Korean IT workers. The court granted her bail against surety bonds worth Rs1 million.
During the hearing, the defense counsel, Advocate Aabid Zaman, argued that no incriminating material was recovered from the accused’s mobile phone and that the prosecution had so far failed to present concrete evidence to support the charges.
On the other hand, the prosecution informed the court that the case was registered on the complaint of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It alleged that the accused and her accomplices prepared fake documents which were provided to North Korean IT workers for use in undisclosed activities.
The prosecution further claimed that payments for these services were allegedly received in cryptocurrency, including Bitcoin.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had registered the case against three individuals, including Aalia Batool, Sohaib, and Sagheer.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the court approved the bail plea of the accused and ordered her release upon submission of surety bonds.
