Trump Announces Extension of Ceasefire on Iran After Request from Pakistani Leadership

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has reportedly announced an extension of a ceasefire related to Iran, following a request from Pakistan’s leadership. According to a statement shared on social media, Trump said that Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir urged the United States to refrain from launching attacks on Iran until a consensus proposal is presented by Iranian authorities.

Trump stated that the ceasefire would remain in place until diplomatic discussions are completed and Iran’s proposals are formally submitted. He also noted that while active military action has been paused, U.S. forces have been instructed to maintain a blockade and remain fully prepared for any developments.

Meanwhile, Mehdi Mohammadi, an advisor to the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, rejected Trump’s announcement. In a social media response, he dismissed the ceasefire extension as insignificant, arguing that the ongoing blockade against Iran is effectively equivalent to military aggression and should be met with a firm response.

The situation highlights rising tensions in the region, with conflicting statements emerging from involved parties and uncertainty surrounding the progress of diplomatic efforts.
