Road Blockades and Use of Force Humiliating People in Balochistan, Warns Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman

Quetta: Maulana Hidayat ur Rehman, Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Balochistan and Member of the Provincial Assembly, has said that road blockades, restrictions on trade, internet services, and the use of force in Balochistan are turning the province into a “desert and no-go area.”
Speaking to delegations and media representatives, he said that obstacles are being created for elected representatives, which is against democratic values. He added that insecurity, unemployment, corruption, and enforced disappearances remain major issues that must be resolved to ensure peace, development, and prosperity.
He said that the people are facing severe difficulties due to street crime and frequent closures of highways, which are causing fear, distress, and frustration among the public.
Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman stated that instead of relying only on statements and assurances, the government and security institutions must take practical steps to ensure peace, employment opportunities, development, and access to basic facilities.
He also highlighted that Jamaat-e-Islami is actively working on education, healthcare, ambulance services, and welfare initiatives, including support for orphaned children. He urged other political and religious parties to follow this model of public service.
The JI leader warned that the continued use of force to handle situations is worsening conditions in the province. He stressed that blocking roads and disrupting normal life is severely affecting the public.
He appealed to the people to support Jamaat-e-Islami, claiming that it has the capacity to improve the situation and address public grievances. He also directed party officials at all levels to intensify public outreach campaigns and maintain direct contact with citizens through door-to-door engagement and upcoming visits to different areas.
