Balochistan Police Inspector Dismissed Over Tampering with Investigation Records and Dishonesty

Quetta: The Balochistan Police has dismissed Inspector Asif Khan Khattak from service after allegations of serious misconduct, dishonesty, and tampering with official investigation records were proven.
According to a notification issued by the Central Police Office Central Police Office Quetta, the officer was found guilty of altering case records, entering incorrect engine and chassis numbers, and manipulating evidence during an investigation at Industrial Police Station Quetta in 2023.
The inquiry report stated that during the investigation of a criminal case, the inspector deliberately altered facts, ignored key evidence including photographs and videos from the crime scene, and conducted the inquiry in a highly unprofessional manner.
It was further revealed that incorrect vehicle details were included in the case file, which caused the case to become suspicious and ultimately led to the acquittal of the accused in court.
The departmental inquiry concluded that the officer was guilty of negligence, misconduct, and deliberate irregularities. He was issued a show-cause notice and given an opportunity to defend himself, but failed to provide a satisfactory explanation.
After reviewing all evidence and records, authorities imposed the penalty of dismissal from service under the Police Efficiency and Discipline Rules, 1975.
Officials said the case highlights serious concerns regarding accountability within law enforcement agencies and stressed the need for strict disciplinary action against any misconduct within the force.
