Iranian Ambassador Says Negotiations Will Only Be Held in Pakistan, Trusts Islamabad, Not the US

Islamabad: Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghaddam has said that any negotiations will only be held in Pakistan and nowhere else, adding that Tehran trusts Islamabad as a neutral mediator but does not trust the United States.

Addressing a policy event at the Institute of Policy Studies in Islamabad, the ambassador stated that the United States is not a reliable partner and that Iran has designated Pakistan as a credible and impartial facilitator for diplomatic engagement.

He emphasized that Iran prefers all talks to take place in Pakistan, reiterating, “We trust Pakistan, not the United States.”

Reza Amiri Moghaddam praised Pakistan’s diplomatic role and peace efforts, saying Iran seeks sovereignty rather than regional dominance. He reiterated that Iran’s nuclear program is entirely peaceful and claimed that no evidence has ever been presented against it, adding that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has also confirmed Iran is not developing nuclear weapons.

He further said Iran has faced continuous pressure since the 1979 revolution and has withstood decades of sanctions and political pressure from the United States and its allies.

The ambassador also accused the United States and Israel of seeking regional dominance, alleging that American actions during negotiations had undermined diplomatic efforts. Despite losses, he said Iran remains united and resilient.
