Salman Akram Raja Says He Will Resign in Meeting with PTI Founder

Islamabad: Senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Salman Akram Raja, has said that he intends to step down from his position during his next meeting with the party’s founding chairman.
Speaking to the media in Islamabad, Salman Akram Raja revealed that the sisters of PTI’s founder had approached him and encouraged him to work alongside them. However, he noted that they may not fully understand political matters.
He stated that the party’s founding chairman had entrusted him with responsibilities, but he plans to offer his resignation when they meet, expressing hope that his decision will be accepted.
Raja emphasized that politics requires experience and maturity, adding that seasoned leaders are better equipped to handle complex political challenges. He also claimed that figures like Allama Raja Nasir Abbas and Mahmood Khan Achakzai were deliberately sidelined, stressing the need to bring them on board.
Addressing reports of differences, he clarified that there is no serious rift between him and Aleema Khan, describing the situation as a temporary reaction. He added that expectations regarding public mobilization may not have been met, which could have contributed to recent tensions.
He reiterated his intention to resolve matters internally and move forward in unity within the party.
