KP CM Accuses Authorities of Denying Winter Essentials to PTI Founder and Bushra Bibi

Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has alleged that the **founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)** and his wife **Bushra Bibi** are being kept in unlawful confinement and extreme isolation, claiming they are **not even being provided basic winter essentials**, which he termed “deeply condemnable.”

Addressing a meeting of the provincial cabinet, the chief minister condemned the reported use of **water cannons** and the alleged mistreatment of the PTI founder’s sisters, calling the incidents *shameful and inhumane*. He reaffirmed that the KP government strongly denounces such actions.

According to reports, CM Afridi stressed that **public welfare projects will remain a top priority**, as all development work is aimed at improving citizens’ lives.

Speaking about the NFC meeting, he welcomed the formation of a **subcommittee for provincial rights**, which will be headed by the provincial finance adviser.

The chief minister highlighted that the **merged districts were promised an annual allocation of Rs 100 billion**, but in seven years they received only **Rs 168 billion**, leaving **Rs 532 billion still outstanding**. He directed all departments to send weekly reminders to the federal government to ensure proper documentation of pending dues.

Newly appointed secretaries also attended the meeting. CM Afridi clarified that the appointments were made **purely on merit, without any pressure or recommendations**, and warned that any complaint of corruption would result in **immediate legal action**.
