Pakistani Leaders Hopeful of Progress in Iran-US Talks, Suggest Islamabad as Potential Venue

Chairman of the Pakistan-China Institute, Mushahid Hussain Syed, and former Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry have expressed optimism that the second round of Iran-US negotiations will yield positive results.
Speaking on the TV program *Capital Talk*, Mushahid Hussain Syed said that if the talks succeed, Donald Trump may personally sign the agreement, potentially visiting Islamabad for the purpose instead of delegating the task to Vice President JD Vance.
He further stated that in case of a successful outcome, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian could also visit Pakistan.
During the same program, Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry noted that the second round of Iran-US talks is expected to be productive.
Earlier, President Donald Trump had indicated a preference for Pakistan as a potential venue for upcoming negotiations with Iran, while also praising the performance of Asim Munir. In remarks to a reporter from New York Post, Trump suggested that developments could occur within days and said Pakistan was a likely choice for hosting the talks, citing effective leadership by the country’s military chief.
