Pakistan Government and Google Launch “AI Seekho 2026” to Train Youth in Artificial Intelligence

Islamabad: The Government of Pakistan and Google have jointly launched the “AI Seekho 2026” initiative, a major program aimed at equipping young people with artificial intelligence skills through “vibe coding” techniques.
The initiative is designed to accelerate Pakistan’s transition toward a global digital economy. The program has been developed in collaboration with Google for Developers, the Ministry of IT and Telecom, Telenor, and Innovista.
Federal Minister for IT and Telecom Shaza Fatima Khawaja said the government’s vision is to shift from a traditional service-based economy to an AI-powered, product-driven economy.
She highlighted that 65% of Pakistan’s population is under the age of 35, making digital skills development a national priority. She said the initiative will help young people—including students, professionals, doctors, lawyers, and artists—gain globally competitive digital skills.
Google’s Cluster Director for Pakistan and Frontier Markets Farhan Qureshi said that Google strongly believes in Pakistan’s digital future. He added that initiatives like “AI Seekho” are helping build the necessary capacity and momentum within the local tech ecosystem.
He further stressed that expanding AI skills at scale is essential for Pakistan to secure its digital future and maintain leadership in global freelancing and gaming industries.
Officials said the program is part of broader efforts to integrate Pakistan into the global artificial intelligence and digital innovation landscape.
