Sindh Government Decides to Seal High-Risk Buildings Violating Fire Safety Laws

Karachi: The Sindh government has decided to seal high-risk buildings found in violation of fire safety regulations following a province-wide inspection drive.
The decision was taken during a high-level meeting on fire safety chaired by Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Haider Shah in Karachi.
Addressing the meeting, the Chief Secretary said that 3,633 buildings across Sindh had been inspected. Notices were issued to 3,319 buildings over fire safety deficiencies.
He further stated that 889 buildings were declared high-risk due to serious violations, while medium- and low-risk buildings have been directed to undertake corrective measures.
The provincial government emphasized that strict action would be taken to ensure compliance with fire safety standards to prevent potential tragedies and safeguard public safety.
